OUR PEOPLE - JACK P. CRISP, JR.


Attorney Crisp concentrates his practice in civil litigation and the representation of businesses. He has experience representing municipalities, non-profit economic development corporations, industrial park authorities, lenders and large and small businesses. In addition, he has extensive experience in many areas of civil litigation including business and commercial disputes, employment, harassment and discrimination claims, construction cases, franchise disputes, personal injury, worker's compensation and family law matters. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts of New Hampshire and Maine.
Jack obtained his Bachelors Degree from Boston University in 1972, where he majored in philosophy and political theory and was a member of the Scarlet Key Honor Society. After receipt of his Juris Doctorate from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1978, he worked as a criminal prosecutor in the Rockingham County Attorney's Office until establishing the firm in 1981.
Attorney Crisp is a Past President of the New Hampshire Bar Association, Past President of the New England Bar Association, and has served as Chair of numerous bar committees such as the Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee. He is the founder of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the New England Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Foundation and the Board of Governors of the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association. He chaired and served as a panel member on numerous continuing education Programs. Attorney Crisp is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the New Hampshire Bar Foundation. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, Coos and Merrimack County Bar Associations, American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, New England Bar Association and the National Conference of Bar Presidents. He is a member of the American Bar Association Business Law Section and Litigation Section.
Jack has an extensive history of involvement in community affairs, including serving on the Northern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce Board from 1982 to 1994, as well as President in 1983 and 1984, serving as a Commissioner of the Berlin Housing Authority, as counsel for the Town of Gorham and City Attorney for the City of Berlin and as a Board member for Child and Family Services.
In addition, Jack has published numerous articles. He co-founded the William F. Batchelder Inn of Court, named in honor of one of New Hampshire's finest Supreme Court Justices, and was instrumental in developing a course on Professionalism and Management which received the American Bar Association's coveted E. Smyth Gambrell Award for Professionalism.
